We Love and Care for Our Kids

Greetings Nobles.

As we embark on the year 2016, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the Nobles who came out to the installation on January 9th, and for your support. It was a full house and it was great to see the building full. I thank you for your trust in me and I will do my very best to keep your Temple in good stead and order.

I would like to congratulate the new members of the Elected Divan; Noble Bill Sweet as Oriental Guide, and his Lady Barbara, and Noble Jim Thornton as Recorder and his Lady Pat. Both Nobles and their Ladies are a great addition to our Divan team and we welcome them onboard. Both Nobles have excellent computer and management skills, and I know they will be instrumental in helping us to improve with updating and streamlining our systems and administration.

I also welcome the members of the 2016 Appointed Divan. They are a hard-working group who showed their willingness over the installation weekend and did a great job in the Hospitality Room. We have two members who exited from the Divan team and I would like to thank them both for their service and dedication. Ill. Sir James Rennie, as our immediate Past Potentate, had a very challenging year which included working many hours on the completion of our building. Through his perseverance, everything was completed the way it was intended. He was a great leader and he will be missed. However, we know he will continue to be a big part of our Temple and will always be there to support us going forward. Our Past Imperial Sir and Recorder, George Mitchell will be missed and I thank him for his efforts over the past years. Imperial Sir George will continue as the Membership Chair of the New York Ontario Shrine Association and will be available to us in this area.

We have just completed the Club Installations and I thank the various Clubs, their Executive, and their members for their kindness and hospitality. It is always fun to be out meeting the Nobility. Now we start into the New Year, I would like to mention a few of the upcoming events and ask for your support and attendance. We will do everything to make you welcome and above all, make sure you have fun! Our objectives this year are to go back to our basics “FUN” and “FUN WITH A PURPOSE”. When we do this, as we did in the beginning, we will attract new members. We, on the Divan, will never forget that our customers are “YOU, THE NOBILITY”. We are determined to excel in Customer Service.

Some of the events:

• February 20th – Financial Meeting at the Temple.
• February 28th – Nile Tea at Temple. All are Welcome. Let us support the Daughters of the Nile. They work very hard for us.
• March 6th – Potentate’s Cruise, Information Session by Cruise Representative at Temple 1:00 p.m. Light refreshments to follow.
• March 13th – Bokhara Court Tea at Temple. Again, let us support this group of hard working and dedicated ladies.
• March 20th – Daughters of the Nile Installation, Temple.
•  April 9th – Oriental Potentate’s Ball, Saratoga Springs, NY.
