POTENTATE’S MESSAGE

Illustrious Sir David E. Rawn
Potentate

I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful hospitality shown to Lady Edith and myself during the first 3 months of 2017. We visited several Clubs and Units for their Installation of new officers. Congratulations to all and the very best to each of you in your new office. The Financial meeting has come and gone with a unanimous vote to accept Ill. Sir Al Berry’s Budget for his year.

I hope to see many of you at Rameses Potentates Ball on Saturday 22 April. Again, the Ball will be held at the Crowne Plaza. This evening, under the direction of Chief Rabban Noble Tom Woodrow and Lady Linda, will promise to be a Gala Event.

Our Special Ladies Luncheon is to be held on Sunday 28 May. Invitations will be sent out from the Shrine Centre and the local Club Ambassadors will be contacting the Ladies to provide transportation. Rameses “2017 Spring Ceremonial” is hosted by my home Club, Manito Shrine Club in Collingwood. Director General, Noble John Chipchase and his Committees have worked hard to make this a weekend to be enjoyed by everyone. “Share the View with Manito” registration form has all the details.

Register early, don’t be disappointed. Lady Edith and I are looking forward to you being part of this great event. With the Ceremonial just around the corner, you still have time to achieve our goal of 120 Candidates. We need to exceed Ill. Sir Jim McKinney’s challenge of 118 Candidates that joined in his year at the 2011 Spring Ceremonial.

As Membership is our biggest challenge, we must look at Membership Development and focus on the 3R’s:

Recruitment of New Members

Retention of Current Members and

Restoration of Suspended Members

Every Member must make a personal commitment to Membership Recruitment and Retention beginning now. This commitment is essential for the future of our Fraternity. We also need to remember our Dedication to our Philanthropy so we can continue . . .
